"The establishment of a demonstration base for the mechanization of the whole process of rice production is an important project for the construction of a million mu plateau characteristic agricultural demonstration area in our prefecture, and it is also a measure to promote farmers' income increase and promote the mechanization of rice planting." Li Xianrong, director of the Prefecture Agricultural Machinery Research Institute, introduced that mechanical seeding is a key link in the industrialized rice seedling cultivation. The use of mechanical seeding not only improves the work efficiency, but also ensures the seeding quality. Mechanical sowing greatly reduces the labor intensity. 800 plates of sowing can be completed per hour with machinery. If it is manual sowing, 10 people will have to be busy for one day to complete it.
Not far away, there is the rice seedling breeding center in the greenhouse. "Nursery in greenhouses is convenient for centralized management, and the quality of seedlings is good." Li Xianrong said that the technology of rice seedling cultivation in greenhouses is an advanced and practical technology to achieve early breeding, strong seedlings, early transplanting and high yield. Compared with conventional seedling cultivation, it has low investment cost, simple operation, convenient management and wide range of use. It is a necessary condition for realizing mechanized seedling transplanting and a key link in the high yield cultivation system of paddy rice.
Not far from the village entrance is the demonstration site of rice mechanical transplanting. Two different types of rice mechanical transplanting machines, walking and riding, are demonstrating their unique functions. With the skilled operation of agricultural machinery operators, the rice mechanical transplanter shuttles between the rice fields, the motor sounds, and rows of seedlings are planted in the fields with even and uniform spacing. Wang Aixing, the group leader of Wolongyi Villagers' Group, said, "One machine can plant 5 mu of rice seedlings in one hour, and five people need to plant 5 mu of rice seedlings by hand for a whole day. The cost of planting rice seedlings by hand is about 400 yuan per mu, while that of using machinery is only 200 yuan. When harvesting rice, manual harvesting costs 500 yuan per mu, while machinery costs only 150 yuan. So the whole process can save farmers nearly 1000 yuan per mu."
Wang Aixing told the reporter that since last year, the village has started to carry out the mechanization demonstration of the whole process of rice production. The demonstration planting area is 10 mu, and most farmers actively sign up to participate in the mechanical transplanting work.
